Disney+’s Sci-Fi Series “Moving” Tops Streaming Charts in 2022

SEOUL - "Moving," a science fiction action series on Disney+, has emerged as the streaming platform's most-watched local original series of the year, according to an announcement from Walt Disney Company Korea on Friday. The series, which debuted on August 9, has captivated audiences, rapidly ascending to the top of the streaming charts not only in the Asia-Pacific region but also globally on Disney+ and Hulu in the United States.

According to Yonhap News Agency, At the company's fourth-quarter earnings call last month, Disney CEO Bob Iger highlighted "Moving" as a significant contributor to the platform's subscriber growth. "Our strong creative accomplishments helped drive impressive growth in core Disney+ subscribers, with nearly 7 million added in the quarter," he stated. Iger pointed to "Moving" as a standout among the platform's original content, crediting it with bolstering Disney+'s global subscriber base.

"Moving," adapted from Kang Full's webtoon of the same name, delves into the lives of individuals endowed with superpowers, who must conceal their abilities to safeguard their families. The series' compelling narrative and unique approach to the superhero genre have earned it a nomination for Best Foreign Language Series at the upcoming 29th Critics Choice Awards scheduled for January 14.
