Seoul: DL EandC on Thursday reported its second-quarter net profit of 129.7 billion won (US$90.1 million), marking a significant increase of 1,464.6 percent from the same period last year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating profit for the April-June period rose to 159.4 billion won, reflecting a growth of 26.3 percent year-over-year. Despite this robust profit performance, DL EandC's sales experienced a decline, falling 9.5 percent to 1.8 trillion won.
The reported earnings surpassed market forecasts, with the average net profit estimate by analysts being 117.8 billion won, as indicated by a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
