Ex-Justice Minister Sentenced to 25 Years for Role in Martial Law Bid

Seoul: Former Justice Minister Park Sung-jae was sentenced to 25 years in prison Monday on charges of playing a key role in former President Yoon Suk Yeol's martial law bid. The Seoul Central District Court delivered the sentence following an indictment by special counsel Cho Eun-suk's team.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Park was charged with playing a significant role in an insurrection and abusing his power during the period following Yoon's December 2024 martial law declaration.
