Seoul: The finance ministry conducted a video conference with officials stationed overseas on Tuesday to evaluate global policy responses amid growing concerns over raw material prices and supply chain disruptions following the conflict in the Middle East. According to Yonhap News Agency, the conference was spearheaded by Second Vice Finance Minister Huh Chang and involved ministry officials situated at South Korean embassies across 13 nations, including the United States, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Indonesia. The meeting provided a platform for officials to share information on price stabilization efforts and supply management policies being implemented by major economies as the raw materials market experiences heightened volatility due to the ongoing conflict. Huh emphasized the importance of continued and timely reporting on global trends and policy responses through the overseas network. He urged participants to maintain a steady flow of information to better prepare and respond to international devel opments, the ministry reported. The finance ministry has pledged to keep a close watch on international policy measures, identify strategies that could be adapted for domestic implementation, and enhance its response mechanisms to stabilize supply chains.
