Flight Takeoffs and Landings to be Suspended for Noise Control During College Entrance Exam.

Seoul: The government announced on Tuesday that all aircraft takeoffs and landings across South Korea will be temporarily prohibited to minimize noise during this year's College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) later this week. According to Yonhap News Agency, the transportation ministry stated that aircraft takeoffs and landings will be restricted for 35 minutes, from 1:05 p.m. to 1:40 p.m. on Thursday, coinciding with the English listening evaluation portion of the national college entrance exam. This measure is intended to prevent aircraft noise from disrupting the exam. All in-flight aircraft, except those in emergency situations, must maintain an altitude of 3 kilometers or higher under air traffic control supervision. The operating schedules of 156 flights will be adjusted in advance to avoid this timeframe, ensuring minimal disruption. Airlines will notify passengers with reservations about the changes ahead of time, as indicated by the ministry. The CSAT, taking place on the third Thursday of Novembe r each year, is one of the country's most significant academic events. It represents the culmination of years of hard work for many students aspiring to enter top universities.
