Seoul: The foreign ministry announced the initiation of a new round of a friendship program for young South Koreans and Chinese, aimed at fostering exchanges and goodwill between the two nations.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the fourth Korea-China youth future friendship promotion group program will see a total of 30 participants this year, engaging in activities designed to deepen exchanges and promote mutual understanding. The ministry emphasized the importance of these interactions in enhancing relations beyond official occasions.
Deputy Foreign Minister Chung Eui-hae highlighted the significance of sincere exchanges in the daily lives of young people for the development of bilateral ties. "Relations between the two countries can grow deeper not only through official occasions, such as summit meetings, but also through sincere exchanges in the daily lives of young people," Chung said. He further expressed confidence that the program will broaden mutual understanding and empathy, contributing to future bilateral relations.
In a congratulatory message, Chinese Ambassador to South Korea Dai Bing acknowledged the evolving nature of bilateral relations, describing them as entering "a new phase of development." He encouraged young participants to actively contribute to advancing ties between South Korea and China.
