Seoul: Heeseung, a former member of the K-pop boy group Enhypen, will relaunch his career under the new stage name Evan with the release of his debut solo single, "Ride or Die," on Monday, his agency, Belift Lab, said. Heeseung left the group in March to pursue a solo career, though the agency had not previously detailed a timeline for his individual activities.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the single features two tracks-the lead track of the alternative rock genre, "Ride or Die," and the easy-listening indie pop B-side "Overflow." Evan took a leading role in the project, participating in songwriting, composition, producing, and overall visual creative direction, according to the agency.
"For everyone, life is a process of finding one's true self," he said through the agency. "As I continue making music, I believe I will discover the most authentic version of myself." He also expressed hope that his new release would offer "hope and comfort" to many listeners. "Just as the music of artists I loved gave me strength, I hope my music can become not only a source of hope but even a reason to keep going for someone."
