Giants’ Lee Jung-hoo Hits Home Run to Extend Streak to 11 Games

SAN FRANCISCO – Rookie outfielder Lee Jung-hoo of the San Francisco Giants extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a home run during Saturday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Oracle Park.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee went 2-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored, contributing to the Giants' 7-3 victory. He opened the game with a solo home run off Diamondbacks starter Zac Gallen, marking his first home run at Oracle Park and the second of his career. The home run, which traveled 364 feet over the right field wall on a 1-0 count with a 92.8 mph fastball, ensured Lee continued his hitting streak, the longest by a South Korean rookie in Major League Baseball (MLB) history. This surpasses previous records held by Kang Jung-ho of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Kim Hyun-soo of the Baltimore Orioles, who each had 10-game streaks. Following a rest day on Friday, Lee also added an RBI double in the eighth inning of Saturday’s game. His season batting average now stands at .289 with two homers and seven RBIs in 20 games, ranking him second on the Giants in batting average.
