Seoul: GM Korea Co., the South Korean unit of General Motors Co., announced a significant increase in their February sales, reporting a 25.9 percent rise compared to the same month last year. This surge is attributed to heightened demand in international markets.
According to Yonhap News Agency, GM Korea's total sales reached 39,655 vehicles in February, a notable increase from the 30,630 units sold during the same period in the previous year. A major contributor to this growth was the robust performance in overseas markets, where sales climbed by 33.3 percent, totaling 38,173 units. In contrast, domestic sales witnessed a decline, dropping by 25.4 percent to 1,482 units.
The company's Trax Crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV) was a standout performer, with 26,114 units sold overseas and 1,120 units sold within the local market. A company official highlighted the impact of global demand, stating, "Strong global demand for the Trax Crossover and the Trailblazer models enabled us to achieve positive sales performance in February."
