Hanwha Aerospace Joins Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association

Tallinn: Hanwha Aerospace Co. announced its membership with the Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association (EDIA) as a strategic move to strengthen ties with Estonia. This marks the company as the first South Korean entity to join the association, indicating its commitment to collaborating with the Baltic nation's defense sector.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Hanwha Aerospace shared this development on LinkedIn, emphasizing its desire to engage with Estonian companies. The company expressed its intent to understand the needs of local businesses and establish enduring partnerships. By joining EDIA, Hanwha Aerospace aims to foster joint research and development initiatives and enhance supply chain cooperation with Estonian defense innovators.

The defense company highlighted its goal of building a sustainable relationship with Estonia's defense industry through its EDIA membership. Hanwha Aerospace first connected with Estonia by supplying K9 self-propelled howitzers in 2020 and plans to deliver the Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher system by late 2025.

Additionally, Hanwha Aerospace has collaborated on several defense projects with Estonian firms, such as Nortal, SensusQ, Marduk Technologies, Frankenburg Technologies, and Milrem Robotics.
