The stock closed at KRW 116,500, marking an increase of KRW 6,400. Despite this positive movement, the broader market showcased a downward trend, with numerous companies experiencing declines in their stock prices.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several prominent names in the KOSPI 200 index recorded notable decreases. SK hynix experienced a substantial drop, closing at KRW 1,500,000, down by KRW 162,000. Similarly, Doosan's shares fell by KRW 57,000, ending the day at KRW 1,193,000. Samsung Electronics, another major player, saw its stock price decrease by KRW 21,000, closing at KRW 247,500.
Other companies also faced declines, including Kia Corp., which dropped by KRW 4,200 to finish at KRW 133,000, and CJ Logistics, whose shares decreased by KRW 2,300 to KRW 73,000. Furthermore, LG Corp. and Hyundai Steel saw reductions of KRW 2,500 and KRW 600, respectively.
Conversely, select stocks bucked the downward trend. DB Insurance reported a gain of KRW 5,500, closing at KRW 187,500, while ISUPETASYS rose by KRW 1,500 to reach KRW 104,400. These positive movements provided some relief amidst a challenging day for many stocks within the index.
Overall, the trading session highlighted a predominantly downward trajectory for the KOSPI 200, with only a few stocks managing to achieve gains. The fluctuations underscore the dynamic nature of the market and the varied performances of individual stocks.
