Seoul: Hyundai Motor Group announced a significant contribution of 2 billion won (US$1.26 million) to aid relief and recovery efforts in regions of South Korea affected by recent wildfires, particularly in the southeastern part of the country. This donation was directed to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, which will utilize the funds to support recovery operations in severely impacted areas such as Sancheong in South Gyeongsang Province, Uiseong in North Gyeongsang Province, and Ulju in Ulsan.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Hyundai Motor Group has also mobilized six emergency support vehicles, including specialized laundry and disinfection trucks, to manage contaminated laundry and provide sanitary support at the disaster sites. Additionally, two mobile office buses have been dispatched to serve as rest areas for displaced residents and volunteer workers involved in the recovery efforts.
Further assistance is being offered by Hyundai Motor Group through special repair discounts for Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp. customers whose vehicles suffered damage due to the wildfires. Non-insured customers who can present damage verification documents are eligible for repairs at a discount of up to 50 percent, with a maximum benefit capped at 3 million won per vehicle, as stated by the group.
