Seoul: Hyundai Motor Company announced a 3 percent decrease in its third-quarter net profit, amounting to 3.2 trillion won (approximately $2.3 billion), compared to the same period last year. Despite an increase in revenue, the company's earnings did not meet market expectations. According to Yonhap News Agency, Hyundai reported an operating profit of 3.58 trillion won for the quarter, down from 3.82 trillion won a year earlier. Meanwhile, the company's revenue rose by 4.7 percent, reaching 42.92 trillion won. Analysts had anticipated a higher net profit, with the average estimate standing at 3.34 trillion won, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data arm of Yonhap News Agency. The results reflect ongoing challenges in the automotive industry, including fluctuating market demands and economic uncertainties, impacting Hyundai's profitability despite an overall increase in revenue.
