Hyundai Motor Revises Plans for New Seoul Headquarters

SEOUL - Hyundai Motor Group has submitted a revised construction plan for its future Global Business Center (GBC) in Gangnam district, Seoul, opting for a multi-building approach over the initially proposed 105-story skyscraper.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Group officials revealed the proposal includes dividing the GBC into six units, with two buildings dedicated to serving as the new headquarters for Hyundai Motor Co. and Kia Corp. The remaining structures will accommodate event spaces, and cultural and convenience facilities. This adjustment aims to circumvent military operation altitude restrictions, potentially smoothing over defense ministry concerns. Hyundai is committed to working closely with the Seoul city government to secure the necessary permits for these changes.
