Hyundai Tucson SUV Sales Surge by 15 Percent in Europe

Seoul: Hyundai Motor Co. announced on Wednesday that sales of its Tucson SUV experienced a significant increase in Europe during the first four months of this year, fueled by substantial demand for the hybrid variant of this compact SUV.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean automaker reported the sale of 44,887 Tucson units in Europe from January to April, marking a 15.1 percent increase compared to the same period last year. This figure represents the highest sales performance for the model during the four-month timeframe.

The hybrid models proved to be particularly popular, accounting for 27,210 units, or over 60 percent of the total Tucson sales in the period. Since its European debut in 2004, the Tucson achieved 1 million cumulative sales in 2017 and surpassed the 2 million mark last year, reaching a total of 2.12 million units as of April.

Hybrid models have played a pivotal role in the Tucson's growth trajectory, with annual sales in Europe consistently exceeding 70,000 units for three consecutive years since 2023.
