I-dle’s Soyeon to Release Solo Album on Quitting Work Theme

Seoul: Soyeon, the leader of the K-pop group i-dle, is set to make a solo comeback with a new album centered on the theme of leaving a job. This marks her first solo endeavor in over five years.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Cube Entertainment announced that Soyeon's first full-length solo album, titled "What a Wonderful Life," will be released at 6 p.m. on Monday. Her previous solo work was an EP named "Windy," which debuted in July 2021.

The album's lead track, approximately translated to "I'm Quitting My Job," combines a band-driven sound with lyrics that explore the experience of resigning from work. Cube Entertainment noted that this theme is something "any office worker can relate to." The track also includes narration by Kian84, a well-known cartoonist and television personality.

In addition to the lead track, the album features a total of eight tracks covering various genres, including rock, hyperpop, and disco. Soyeon has contributed as both a co-writer and co-composer for every song on the album.

In a press release issued by her label, Soyeon conveyed that the lead track aims to remind listeners of the importance of happiness "in this very moment," despite the significance of securing a stable future.
