SEOUL: Chiefs of Staff Chairman Adm. Kim Myung-soo on Saturday inspected military readiness at a front-line general outpost (GOP) and aboard the ROKS Yulgok Yi I, an Aegis-equipped destroyer. Kim’s visits were prompted by North Korea’s recent GPS jamming attacks, which have continued for a second consecutive day, impacting several ships and dozens of civilian aircraft.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim addressed the ongoing provocations during his visit to the GOP, highlighting the enemy’s actions since the destruction of the Gyeongui and Donghae roads. These actions include the launch of intercontinental and short-range ballistic missiles, as well as gray-zone provocations like GPS jamming.

During his time aboard the destroyer, Kim emphasized the importance of readiness and urged service members to be prepared to strike and eliminate the enemy’s command and support units in response to any provocations.
