Jeju Hit by Snowstorm, Hundreds of Flights Canceled or Delayed

JEJU: A severe snowstorm has impacted South Korea's Jeju island, leading to the cancellation or delay of numerous flights. As of 8 p.m. Thursday, the Korea Airports Corporation confirmed that 143 flights to and from the island were canceled, with an additional 156 delayed. Approximately 7,500 passengers are estimated to have been stranded due to the adverse weather conditions.

Special weather advisories have been issued for Jeju International Airport in response to the ongoing cold wave. Jeju has received about 20 centimeters of snowfall, with Mount Halla experiencing a cumulative snowfall of 59.6 centimeters. The heavy snowfall, affecting the entire Jeju area, is expected to continue until Friday.
