Seoul: KB Financial Group Inc., a major South Korean banking group, said Friday it has selected a veteran financier as the candidate for the group's next chief.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the financial holding firm's nomination committee picked Lee Jae-keun, head of the group's global business division, as the candidate for the group's next chairman. His nomination is set to be officially approved at a shareholders meeting in November.
Lee, 60, has been serving as the chief of the group's financial business, bringing extensive experience to KB Financial's efforts to expand its portfolio into non-banking areas such as insurance and brokerage. The committee stated that Lee was chosen to "strengthen the group's core competitiveness and secure future growth momentum."
