GWANGJU — Kim Do-yeong, a standout player for the Kia Tigers, hit for the cycle in Tuesday's game, marking a significant achievement in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) this season. This feat made Kim the first player this year to hit a single, double, triple, and home run in one game, and he did so at just 20 years old, becoming the second-youngest player in KBO history to accomplish this.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim's performance against the NC Dinos at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field included an infield single, a double, a triple, and a two-run home run, completed in that specific order to achieve what is known as the "natural cycle." His final home run, off reliever Bae Jae-whan in the sixth inning, was his 25th of the season, complementing his 29 steals and setting him on track for a 30-30 season. Earlier in April, Kim also became the first player in KBO history to record at least 10 home runs and 10 steals in a single month, underscoring his rising status in the league.
