Kia Tigers’ Park Jung-woo Plays Through Pain in KBO Postseason

Accra:Kia Tigers outfielder Park Jung-woo is enduring the KBO postseason while dealing with wisdom tooth pain. Despite the discomfort, Park has chosen to wait until the end of the postseason to address the issue. He missed the first game of the series due to illness but is now determined to continue playing.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Park's wisdom tooth pain was exacerbated by a fever, making it difficult for him to eat. However, with the Tigers leading the LG Twins 2-0 in their best-of-five series, Park is willing to endure the pain for the chance to advance further in the postseason.

Park, who had a career-high 110 games this past regular season and a strong on-base percentage of .403, plays an essential role in the lineup. Manager Lee Bum-ho has assigned him the leadoff spot, trusting him to set the stage for key hitters like Kim Do-yeong, Harold Castro, and Na Sung-bum.

The 28-year-old outfielder remains focused on maintaining his performance despite the pain, expressing his willingness to trade a few more days of discomfort for a successful postseason run. Park emphasized his desire to continue playing, stating that he will remain on the field as long as he avoids injury during games.
