Munich: South Korean international Kim Min-jae has clinched his second straight Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich. Bayern Munich defeated VfB Stuttgart 4-2 at Allianz Arena in Munich on Sunday to secure their 35th German league title with four matches to spare.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Bayern Munich needed only a point to be crowned the Bundesliga champions but went on to score four goals in front of their home supporters. This victory brought their total to 79 points, with 25 wins, four draws, and one loss. Borussia Dortmund, who are in second place with 64 points, cannot catch Bayern Munich for the remainder of the season.
Kim Min-jae played the full match at center back, celebrating his third major European league title overall, after his Italian league championship with Napoli in 2023. Bayern Munich now has the opportunity to achieve a treble, as they have advanced to the semifinals in both the DFB-Pokal domestic cup competition and the UEFA Champions League, Europe's top continental tournament.
Kim Min-jae has joined former Manchester United midfielder Park Ji-sung as the only South Koreans to have won at least three league titles in the "Big Five" of European football-England, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. Park Ji-sung won four Premier League championships with Manchester United in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011.
