Hilton head island: Kim Si-woo recorded his fifth top-10 finish of the 2026 PGA Tour season, ending two strokes shy of a playoff at the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina. Kim completed the tournament in third place with a total score of 16-under 268 after shooting a three-under 68 in the final round, which included four birdies and a bogey on the par-4 18th hole.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim started the final round trailing the overnight leader, England's Matt Fitzpatrick, by four strokes. Playing alongside Brian Harman, Kim gained momentum with birdies on the par-5 second and the par-3 fourth holes, although Fitzpatrick maintained his lead with birdies on the first and third holes to reach 19-under.
Kim narrowed the gap with a birdie on the 11th and further closed in on Fitzpatrick with another birdie on the par-5 15th. Despite his efforts, Kim finished in third place, two shots short of a playoff between Fitzpatrick and Scottie Scheffler, both of whom ended the tournament at 18-under. Fitzpatrick went on to win the playoff, securing his fourth PGA Tour title and second of the year by birdieing the first playoff hole. The victory marked Fitzpatrick's second consecutive RBC Heritage win in a playoff.
With this performance, Kim matched his career high of five top-10 finishes in a single season, a feat he achieved in multiple previous seasons. After the tournament, Kim expressed satisfaction with his performance, noting the challenges faced in the final holes due to gusty winds.
Kim, who last claimed a PGA title in January 2023, continues to seek another victory. His recent form includes three consecutive top-six finishes from late January to early February and a tie for 10th at the Valero Texas Open earlier this month.
