Seoul: Korea Investment Holdings Co. on Thursday reported its second-quarter net income of 998.4 billion won (US$704.4 million), up 84.8 percent from a year earlier. Operating income for the April-June period was 1.34 trillion won, reflecting a 129.6 percent increase from the previous year. Revenue rose 92.7 percent to 13.55 trillion won.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the earnings exceeded market expectations. The average estimate of net profit by analysts was 832 billion won, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
