KORIBOR Rates Show Minor Increases in Longer Terms

Seoul: The Korea Interbank Offered Rates (KORIBOR) experienced minor increases in some of the longer-term rates as posted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial news and information arm of Yonhap News Agency, at 11:00 a.m.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the rates for the 1-week and 1-month terms remained unchanged at 3.00% and 3.09%, respectively. However, there were slight increases observed in the 2-month, 3-month, 6-month, and 12-month rates, indicating a shift in interbank lending expectations for these durations.

The 2-month rate saw an increase from 3.16% in the previous session to 3.17% today. Similarly, the 3-month rate rose by 0.01 percentage point, moving from 3.26% to 3.27%. The 6-month rate increased slightly from 3.54% to 3.55%. The most notable change was in the 12-month term, which rose from 3.83% to 3.86%.

These minor adjustments in KORIBOR rates suggest a cautious outlook among financial institutions when it comes to longer-term lending, reflecting potential shifts in the economic landscape and interest rate forecasts.
