SEOUL — The KOSPI 200 index, a basket of Korea's 200 largest companies by market cap, closed with mixed results on Monday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, companies such as Boryung and SamsungElec saw no change in their closing prices, standing at 9,030 won and 67,300 won, respectively. KorZinc, on the other hand, made notable strides, closing at 490,000 won, up by 24,000 won.
In the steel industry, HYUNDAI STEEL closed at 32,650 won, up by 1,650 won. POSCO Holdings also experienced an increase, closing at 433,000 won, up by 10,000 won.
The consumer goods sector saw varying performance. LOTTE Fine Chem closed at 56,900 won, up by 1,500 won, while Shinsegae dropped by 5,200 won to end at 166,500 won. Nongshim saw an increase of 4,500 won, closing at 445,000 won.
