SEOUL – The KOSPI 200 index saw significant upward movement in its latest closing, with numerous companies posting substantial gains. Leading the increase was POSCO Future M, which surged by 23,500 to close at 277,000. Hyundai Steel, Lotte Fine Chem, and Shinsegae also reported notable gains, with increases of 550, 1,550, and 5,800 respectively.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Key performers included Nongshim, which saw its shares rise by 22,000, and Hyundai Engineering and Construction, which climbed by 750. In contrast, Samsung Electronics and HYBE faced downturns, dropping by 1,500 and 18,000 respectively. The robust performance across various sectors highlights the market's dynamic response to ongoing economic stimuli and investor sentiment. Other notable increases were observed in companies like Kia Corp, which ascended by 4,700, and GS Retail, which increased by 480. Overall, the day ended on a high note for the majority of the listed companies, reflecting positive market trends and investor confidence.
