KOSPI 200 Experiences Significant Decline Amid Select Gains

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a notable decline in closing prices, with several major companies experiencing downward trends. Among the affected were LS ELECTRIC, LG Innotek, and Hanwha Solutions, which saw their stock prices fall by 16,000, 22,000, and 2,450, respectively. Other companies such as OCI Holdings, LOTTE CHEMICAL Corp, and Hyundai WIA also reported significant decreases in their stock values.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the overall market sentiment was bearish, with Korea Zinc experiencing a drop of 54,000 in its stock price, while SK and Hanwha Aerospace saw declines of 43,000 and 58,000, respectively. Despite the general downward trend, there were a few exceptions. Notably, DB HiTek, LOTTE SHOPPING, and Hanchem bucked the trend with increases of 300, 4,100, and 3,000, respectively.

Furthermore, companies such as DWS, KEPCO, and SamsungSecu reported declines of 410, 1,700, and 7,000, respectively. Meanwhile, KT and LG Uplus experienced minor gains, with their stock prices rising by 200 and 210, respectively. The market fluctuations reflect varied performances across sectors, with select stocks managing to defy the general downturn.
