KOSPI 200 Mixed Performance with Notable Gains in Insurance and Energy Sectors

SEOUL: The KOSPI 200 index presented a mixed performance, with significant gains in the insurance and energy sectors, while several technology and chemical stocks experienced declines. Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance and SK led the upward movement, while LG Household and Health Care and Hanwha Solutions saw declines or remained unchanged.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Fire and Marine Insurance closed with a notable increase of 10,000 won, reaching 356,500 won. SK also reported an increase, closing at 148,600 won, up by 3,100 won. Other gainers included Woori Financial Group, which rose by 430 won to 17,080 won, and OCI Holdings, which advanced by 1,900 won to 67,200 won.

In contrast, LG Household and Health Care saw a decrease of 8,500 won, closing at 346,000 won. NAVER and Hanall Biopharma also experienced declines, closing at 167,800 won and 47,250 won, respectively. Kakao reported a decrease of 950 won, ending at 36,500 won, while KEPCO E and C fell by 800 won to 69,800 won.

Several
companies remained stable or saw minimal change. KakaoBank and TKG Huchems remained unchanged at 21,650 won and 19,760 won, respectively. Meanwhile, Hyundai Rotem increased by 700 won to close at 64,300 won, and JB Financial Group rose by 700 won to 18,290 won.
