Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a mixed closing as several major companies reported significant declines, while a few registered gains. DL, Doosan, and KumhoPetrochem were among the notable companies that saw a drop in their stock prices, with DL closing at 52,900 won, down by 2,100 won, and Doosan at 1,478,000 won, decreasing by 22,000 won. KumhoPetrochem also faced a downturn, closing at 131,400 won, a decrease of 6,200 won.
According to Yonhap News Agency, LG Energy Solution faced a notable decline, closing at 384,500 won, down by 15,500 won. Similarly, Samsung Epis Holding closed at 464,500 won, a decrease of 14,500 won. Other companies such as HyundaiMtr and POSCO Holdings also experienced declines, with HyundaiMtr closing at 592,000 won, down by 12,000 won, and POSCO Holdings at 417,000 won, a decrease of 23,500 won.
On the other hand, some companies managed to close with gains. Yuhan's stock rose by 200 won, closing at 81,500 won. Mobis saw an increase of 10,000 won, closing at 535,000 won. SamsungElecMech experienced a significant rise of 74,000 won, closing at 1,061,000 won, and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries closed at 636,000 won, up by 38,000 won.
Despite these gains, the overall trend for the day showed a downward movement for many companies in the KOSPI 200 index. The performance reflects varied market sentiments and highlights the volatility in stock prices among major companies.
