Seoul: The latest closing prices for the KOSPI 200 revealed a mixed performance across various sectors, with some companies experiencing gains while others faced declines.
According to Yonhap News Agency, notable increases in stock prices were seen for companies like LG Electronics, which rose by 3,800 to reach 202,000, and LGCHEM, which went up by 3,500 to close at 271,500. KEPCO EandC also saw a significant increase of 5,600, finishing at 143,800. SK Innovation reported a substantial rise of 5,000, ending the day at 141,700.
On the other hand, several companies experienced a downturn in their stock prices. LIG Defense and Aerospace saw the largest decline, dropping by 34,000 to 671,000. KB Financial Group also faced a significant decrease, falling by 5,800 to close at 175,800. Other companies experiencing declines included Hanwha Ocean, down by 3,500 to 82,400, and Hyundai Rotem, which decreased by 3,000 to 121,400.
Despite the declines observed in some sectors, other companies managed to secure gains. HanmiPharm rose by 22,500 to a new price of 496,500, while LG HandH increased by 3,000, closing at 302,000. Additionally, DWEC saw an uptick of 370, ending the day at 19,130, and FOOSUNG rose by 670 to 14,780.
The KOSPI 200's mixed results underline the varied performance of companies within the index, reflecting differing market conditions and investor sentiments.
