Seoul: The latest closing prices for the KOSPI 200 index reveal a mixed performance among major companies, with notable gains observed in Hanwha Aerospace and other firms. Hanwha Aerospace emerged as a standout performer, reporting an increase of 42,000 won, closing at 1,097,000 won. Other companies also experienced increases, such as Kumho Petrochem, which closed at 121,900 won, up by 900 won, and Samsung Epis Holding, which rose by 5,500 won to reach 332,500 won.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Korea Zinc saw a decline, closing 11,000 won lower at 1,123,000 won, while Mobis dropped by 2,000 won to 381,000 won. OCI Holdings and SK Telecom also faced declines, with OCI Holdings down by 1,000 won to 202,000 won and SK Telecom decreasing by 500 won to 87,600 won. On the other hand, companies like S-1 and Hyundai Elevator reported gains of 1,100 won and 700 won, closing at 84,000 won and 73,500 won, respectively.
In the financial sector, Samsung Secu and IBK experienced varied outcomes. Samsung Secu increased by 400 won to 86,000 won, while IBK fell by 50 won to 20,150 won. Among the technology stocks, Samsung SDS and LG Display both saw decreases, with Samsung SDS down by 1,500 won to 216,000 won and LG Display falling 90 won to 8,380 won. Meanwhile, KT closed 600 won higher at 53,400 won, and LG Uplus saw a slight rise of 30 won to 14,680 won.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 index displayed a range of performances, reflecting both upward and downward trends across various sectors. The changes in stock prices highlight the ongoing volatility and diverse market dynamics influencing the South Korean stock market.
