Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced notable declines in its closing prices, with several major companies witnessing substantial drops in their stock values. Market leaders such as SK, Samsung SDS, and SK hynix were among those affected in the downturn.
According to Yonhap News Agency, SK's stock closed at 545,000, down by 41,000, while Hanon Systems saw a decrease of 135, closing at 3,405. KIWOOM and Hanwha Ocean also recorded significant drops, with their stocks closing at 274,000 and 82,000, respectively, showing declines of 8,000 and 5,900.
HANMISemi and Kangwonland stocks also fell, closing at 213,500 and 14,600, with reductions of 1,500 and 150. DWEC and Korea Aerospace experienced downturns, ending at 16,280 and 122,600, down by 540 and 4,600 respectively. Meanwhile, Samsung SDS faced a drop of 12,000, closing at 233,000.
SK hynix, a major player in the tech industry, saw its stock plummet by 80,000, closing at 1,613,000. Other significant declines included HyundaiEngandConst and DB HiTek, closing at 112,600 and 89,200 with drops of 8,100 and 5,200.
LG Uplus and Samsung Life also felt the pressure, with their stocks dropping by 330 and 15,500, closing at 14,890 and 294,000. Samsung CandT and Samsung Card closed at 373,000 and 45,400, reflecting declines of 17,500 and 650.
The market's downturn highlights a challenging period for the KOSPI 200, with multiple sectors facing significant stock value reductions.
