Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a notable uptrend with several companies registering significant gains. Taekwang Industrial closed at 857,000, marking an increase of 5,000. KAL also showed progress with its closing price at 25,900, up by 1,250. LG Corp. saw its stock rise to 101,100, an increase of 4,700, while Doosan Robotics closed at 61,600, up by 6,200. KB Financial Group and Youngone Corp also reported gains, closing at 168,500 and 89,400, respectively.
According to Yonhap News Agency, CSWIND's shares increased to 37,300, up by 1,750, and Hanmi Pharm experienced a substantial rise, closing at 333,500, up by 22,000. SD Biosensor ended at 6,350, reflecting an increase of 180. In contrast, Meritz Financial saw a decline of 100, closing at 124,000. Several other financial groups, such as BNK Financial Group and iM Financial Group, reported gains, closing at 15,170 and 16,950, respectively.
In the retail sector, emart's shares increased by 2,000, closing at 79,800. Hankook Tire and Technology rose to 67,600, up by 2,500. KOLMAR KOREA and HANJIN KAL also saw positive movements, closing at 95,200 and 111,700, respectively. SBHC and POONGSAN reported gains, with POONGSAN experiencing a significant increase of 11,300, closing at 71,200.
POSCO DX and DWEC continued the upward trend, closing at 19,260 and 12,780, respectively. LS ELECTRIC saw a substantial rise, closing at 184,800, up by 34,500. Youngpoong and ORION Holdings also ended positively with minor gains. Among other notable movements, KCC's shares increased significantly to 388,000, up by 32,500.
SKBP, HYOSUNG TNC, and HS HYOSUNG ADVANCED all reported gains, with HS HYOSUNG ADVANCED seeing a rise of 13,600, closing at 160,800. However, SK Innovation faced a decline, closing at 110,500, down by 6,100. SKBS and KakaoBank ended the day with gains, closing at 33,850 and 22,100, respectively.
HYBE, SK ie technology, and Hyundai Autoever also reported positive movements, with Hyundai Autoever seeing a substantial increase of 49,000, closing at 364,500. DL E and C and kakaopay closed with gains, alongside HDHMS and ECOPRO MAT. OCI and ISU SPECIALTY CHEMICAL also ended the trading day on a positive note, with OCI closing at 68,900, up by 6,700.
