KOSPI 200 Sees Strong Gains as Major Companies Surge

Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed notable upward movements as major companies reported significant gains in their closing prices. Various firms experienced increases, reflecting a positive trend in the market.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Hyundai Autoever emerged as one of the top performers, with its shares closing at 629,000, marking an increase of 71,000. Mobis also showed substantial growth, with its stock price rising by 135,000 to reach 670,000. Samsung Electronics followed suit, recording a gain of 23,500, bringing its closing price to 299,500.

The energy sector saw positive outcomes as well, with LG Energy Solution climbing by 16,500 to close at 401,000. Meanwhile, OCI Holdings and POSCO Holdings both recorded significant increases of 3,000 and 26,500, respectively.

Other notable performers included Samsung SDI Co., Ltd., which closed at 616,000, up by 46,000, and Samsung C and T, which saw an increase of 48,000, ending the day at 418,500. Hyosung Heavy's shares also surged by 360,000, closing at 3,929,000.

Despite the overall upward trend, some companies experienced declines. GC Corp. saw a decrease of 1,180, closing at 15,190, while OTOKI fell by 1,000 to 342,000. DN Automotive also experienced a slight dip, with its shares dropping by 250 to 44,300.

The market's performance reflects a positive sentiment among investors, with several sectors showing resilience and growth.
