Seoul: Monday's closing prices on the Korea Stock Exchange for KOSPI 200 stocks revealed varied movements, with several major companies experiencing notable declines. LG Corp. saw a rise, closing at 113,200 KRW, up by 700 KRW. In contrast, POSCO FUTURE M dropped significantly by 6,400 KRW, closing at 178,900 KRW.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies also faced declines, such as Hyundai Steel, which decreased by 600 KRW to 33,000 KRW, and Shinsegae, which fell by 5,000 KRW to 376,000 KRW. Samsung Electronics faced a substantial drop of 10,500 KRW, closing at 249,000 KRW, while Hyundai Motor declined by 11,000 KRW, ending at 371,500 KRW.
Despite the downward trend for some, other companies reported gains. Hanwha Systems climbed by 4,100 KRW to reach 75,000 KRW, and Nongshim increased by 2,500 KRW to 417,000 KRW. DB Insurance also saw an increment, closing at 192,500 KRW, up by 800 KRW.
The report further highlighted that Hanwha and DB HiTek experienced upward movements, with increases of 6,400 KRW and 5,500 KRW, respectively. However, SK hynix observed a significant decline, dropping by 115,000 KRW to 1,697,000 KRW. Similarly, Doosan fell sharply by 101,000 KRW, closing at 1,255,000 KRW.
These mixed movements in the KOSPI 200 stocks reflect the ongoing fluctuations in the market, influenced by various factors impacting the South Korean economy.
