Last Off-Limit Trail Near Cheong Wa Dae to Open After Six Decades

Seoul:The Presidential Security Service (PSS) has announced that a 1.32-kilometer mountain trail near Cheong Wa Dae will soon be accessible to the public after being restricted for nearly 60 years.

According to Yonhap News Agency, this trail, situated in the southwestern part of Mount Bukak behind Cheong Wa Dae, is the last of three significant trails in the area to be opened to the public. The northern trail, measuring 2.2 kilometers, was made accessible in 2020, followed by a 3-kilometer trail in the southeastern part in 2022.

The new southwestern trail will be open 24 hours a day starting Saturday, marking the complete opening of Mount Bukak to the public, as noted by PSS chief Hwang In-kwon.
