Lee Expresses Condolences After Deadly Coal Mine Explosion in China

Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung on Sunday expressed condolences over a deadly gas explosion at a coal mine in China's Shanxi province, voicing hope for a swift recovery from the tragedy.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee offered his sympathies following the explosion at the Liushenyu coal mine, which resulted in at least 82 fatalities. In a message shared on the social media platform X, Lee said, "I pray for the souls of those who lost their lives in the tragic accident, and express my deep condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families and to the people of China." He also posted the message in Chinese to reach a wider audience.

Lee further conveyed his hope that the situation would be quickly controlled through the efforts of the Chinese government and relevant authorities. He wished a speedy recovery to all those who were injured in the explosion, emphasizing solidarity with the affected families and the Chinese nation during this difficult time.
