Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung has vowed to establish a fair and transparent society during a meeting with civic group members, urging them to be instrumental in pursuing social reform.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the meeting, hosted at Cheong Wa Dae, gathered members from various civic groups dedicated to social issues such as human rights, the environment, agriculture, peace, and history. President Lee expressed his hope for collaborative efforts to foster a society where hope thrives and fairness prevails, emphasizing the need for a transparent system.
President Lee highlighted that while his administration's vision aligns closely with that of the civic groups, the methodologies to achieve these goals might vary. He acknowledged the historical significance of civil society's role in South Korea's democratization, stressing its crucial contribution to forthcoming social reforms.
The presidential office stated that the meeting aimed to bridge the gap between government policies and the challenges faced by civic group activists, fostering a collaborative approach toward addressing pressing social issues.
