Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung and first lady Kim Hea Kyung on Saturday offered their greetings to the public on the second day of the extended Chuseok holiday, vowing utmost efforts to improve people’s livelihoods. In a video message, Lee expressed a “heavy sense of responsibility” as the country celebrates this year’s extended Chuseok holiday, the Korean fall harvest festival, from Friday to next Thursday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee emphasized that while the Chuseok holiday traditionally represents a time for wishing abundance and dreaming of a hopeful future, the current hardships facing people’s livelihoods are too significant to only focus on joy. He committed to making the utmost efforts to ensure “every household lives more prosperously” and that the country’s industries can make a “vigorous leap forward.”
Lee further expressed his confidence in overcoming all challenges, highlighting the shared commitment and aspiration among the people for a better tomorrow.
