Gyeongju: LG Electronics Inc. announced its agreement with U.S. technology company Nvidia Corp. to enhance their cooperation within the physical artificial intelligence (AI) industry, focusing on areas such as robotics and smart factories.
According to Yonhap News Agency, this announcement aligns with Nvidia's recent unveiling of significant business partnerships with South Korean companies in the AI sector, coinciding with the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit in Gyeongju. LG Electronics expressed its commitment to joining Nvidia's AI platform ecosystem to boost its robotics capabilities, utilizing Nvidia's humanoid foundation model, Isaac Groot, as a base for its own physical AI model.
LG highlighted the importance of collecting high-quality data in realizing physical AI and agreed with Nvidia on expanding cooperation to enhance robots' data learning capabilities. Additionally, the partnership aims to develop next-generation smart factory solutions using digital twin technologies.
The collaboration extends to the AI data center sector, where LG is pursuing Nvidia's certification for its cooling distribution units that regulate AI data center temperatures. LG Electronics emphasized its eco-friendly technologies designed to conserve energy and reduce carbon emissions.
The company reiterated its commitment to accelerating innovation in future technologies through its strategic partnership with Nvidia, an influential player in the AI industry.
