LG Electronics Forges Partnership with Alaskan Universities for HVAC R&D

SEOUL — In a move to pioneer innovations in heating solutions, LG Electronics, South Korea's second-largest home appliance manufacturer, announced on Monday a collaborative venture with academic institutions in Alaska to enhance heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems for extremely cold climates.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the partnership involves forming a consortium with the University of Alaska Anchorage and the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The collaboration will lead to the establishment of a joint research and development center dedicated to HVAC products on both university campuses. LG intends to test heat pump heating and cooling systems within these facilities to bolster the durability and efficiency of their HVAC products in severe cold conditions.
