LG Electronics Secures Major Deal to Supply AI Data Center Chillers

Seoul:LG Electronics Inc. announced that its U.S. subsidiary has entered into a long-term agreement to provide chillers for artificial intelligence data centers in collaboration with a North American infrastructure platform company.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the agreement with AIR Control Concept involves the gradual supply of high-efficiency chillers and other cooling solutions designed for thermal management in AI data centers. This deal will encompass a total capacity of 5 gigawatts (GW).

LG Electronics reported securing AIDC cooling solution orders worth over 600 billion won (approximately US$446 million) in the first half of the year. The company anticipates reaching its annual order target of 1 trillion won by the end of this year, achieving this milestone a year ahead of schedule.

The global demand for data center power is projected to rise from 226 GW this year to 334 GW next year, as per market research firm Omdia.
