LG Twins Dominate with Home Runs in Korean Series Victory Over KT Wiz

Suwon, South Korea - The LG Twins showcased their impressive hitting power, smashing six home runs in the past two games of the Korean Series against the KT Wiz, including three in their latest 15-4 rout in Game 4 on Saturday at KT Wiz Park in Suwon.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the Twins have now hit a total of eight home runs in four games of the series, taking a commanding lead by winning three of those matchups.

The offensive onslaught began with Kim Hyun-soo's two-run home run in the first inning of Game 4, setting the tone for the Twins. After a brief lull, Moon Bo-gyeong added to the tally with a two-run homer in the sixth inning, extending the Twins' lead to 5-0. The Twins' momentum continued into the seventh inning, where they scored seven runs, highlighted by a three-run homer from Oh Ji-hwan. This performance came just a day after Oh's crucial three-run home run in the ninth inning of Game 3, which helped the Twins to an 8-7 victory.

The Twins' strategy of capitalizing on home runs, especially in smaller road stadiums, has been highly effective. Manager Youm Kyoung-youb noted the team's focus on hitting as many homers as possible on the road, while using speed to manufacture runs at their home stadium, Jamsil Baseball Stadium. "A home run can alter the momentum of a game and can really give a team a ton of confidence," said Youm, highlighting the impact of long balls on the team's morale.

Kim Hyun-soo remarked on the contagious nature of hitting home runs, sharing that one home run seemed to spark a chain reaction among the players. His two-run homer in the first inning of Game 4 was not just a contribution to the team's victory but also earned him the all-time postseason RBI lead with 44 runs batted in.

Oh Ji-hwan's performance also etched his name in the record books, as he became the first player to hit home runs in three consecutive games within the same Korean Series. The Twins' seven-run seventh inning in Game 4 set new Korean Series records for the most consecutive hits in an inning and the most hits overall in an inning.
