Marine Chiefs of S. Korea and U.S. Strengthen Military Ties

Hwaseong: The Marine Corps chiefs of South Korea and the United States convened on Thursday to deliberate on enhancing military cooperation and joint training efforts, as reported by South Korea's Marine Corps.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Marine Corps Commandant Lt. Gen. Ju Il-suk and U.S. Marine Corps Commandant Gen. Eric Smith met at the South's Marine Corps headquarters in Hwaseong, located south of Seoul. The meeting focused on fortifying their combined training exercises held in South Korea and increasing involvement in overseas multinational drills.

Further discussions between the marine chiefs included expanding cooperation in personnel exchanges, electronic warfare training, and the utilization of ISR (intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) assets.
