North Korea Launches Ballistic Missile into East Sea

SEOUL - North Korea fired an unspecified ballistic missile toward the East Sea on Monday, according to the South Korean military. This action follows a series of weapon tests conducted by North Korea, including the recent launch of cruise missiles into the Yellow Sea just three days prior.

According to Yonhap News Agency, The Joint Chiefs of Staff reported that detailed analysis is currently underway and did not release further specifics of the missile. This launch is North Korea's first ballistic missile test since it announced the test of a new intermediate-range ballistic missile equipped with a hypersonic warhead. Additionally, on Friday, North Korea disclosed the testing of a "super-large warhead" for a strategic cruise missile and a new anti-aircraft missile in the Yellow Sea.
