North Korea Supports China’s Stance on Taiwan, Criticizes U.S.

Seoul:North Korea has voiced strong support for China's "One China" policy, criticizing the United States for allegedly promoting Taiwan's independence and increasing tensions in the region.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the remarks were made in an article titled "U.S. Is Acting Rashly," penned by international affairs analyst Kim Myong-chol and published by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). Kim accused the U.S. of systematically undermining regional stability and escalating tensions in the Taiwan Strait under the guise of opposing unilateral changes to the status quo.

Kim highlighted a recent U.S. fighter jet delivery to Taiwan, describing it as a "shameless act" and likening it to placing a bomb at a neighbor's door while claiming it is for the neighbor's security. He also noted that U.S. arms sales to Taiwan have totaled over $39 billion in the past decade.

He reiterated that the Taiwan issue is an internal matter for China and should be resolved by the Chinese people without outside interference. Kim cautioned the U.S. against confronting China's national power over Taiwan's security and warned of potential consequences.

The article also emphasized that instability in the Taiwan Strait poses a crisis for the United States while predicting that Taiwan's return to China is inevitable.

North Korea and China have strengthened their relationship in recent years, following summits in Beijing in September 2025 and Pyongyang in June this year, where both nations committed to advancing their ties to a "strategic partnership."
