CHANGWON – A court in Changwon held a hearing on Friday to determine the issuance of an arrest warrant for a 27-year-old man accused of murdering a Korean tourist in Pattaya, Thailand. This individual was one of three suspects extradited from Cambodia earlier this week.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the suspect was extradited on Wednesday for his alleged involvement in the murder of a Korean traveler in his 30s and the abandonment of the body in Pattaya in early May. It is reported that he fled to Cambodia after the incident, where he was apprehended in Phnom Penh five days later with the assistance of both Korean police stationed in Cambodia and local authorities. During the investigation, the suspect exercised his right to silence, refusing to make any statements. Upon his arrival at the court, he continued to withhold comments from the press. The court’s decision on the arrest warrant was anticipated later on Friday.
