Baku:Around 100,000 cases of leaked personal information, including emails, names, and phone numbers, are presumed to have occurred at 16 financial institutions in a recent series of hackings, according to the financial regulator.
According to Yonhap News Agency, several financial firms, including KB Kookmin Bank and Shinhan Bank, experienced consecutive leaks of customer information early this month due to hacking incidents.
The Financial Services Commission (FSC) stated that the affected institutions are investigating whether there have been additional data breaches. The FSC also confirmed that bank account numbers, credit card numbers, and other sensitive data were not compromised in the leaks.
