Police Transfer Treason Cases Against President Yoon to Prosecution and CIO

Seoul: Police announced Tuesday the transfer of three treason cases involving President Yoon Suk Yeol and two other officials to the prosecution and the state anti-corruption agency.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the cases involve Yoon, former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun, and Noh Sang-won, the former commander of the Defense Intelligence Command. These charges are related to the brief imposition of martial law by Yoon in December.

The police have delegated the cases to the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials and the Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office. A police official disclosed this information to reporters but did not provide further details.

Currently, all three individuals are on trial for insurrection charges linked to the unsuccessful martial law attempt.
